CTNPCC 2006-2009

my cadet life has ended... and to sum up, all that i have achieved in my cadet years...
quite sad to leave the unit =(
POP is not over yet, but i feel the sadness of the last parade i'll be marching in as a cadet.

Sec 1 (2006):
i have no photo for this year
was from 1B1, and the only three who joined NPCC..
Tee Kai Wen, Ku Wee Kiat and me. however, kaiwen left halfway, thus leaving me and weekiat only
of course, sec1 was my super bad year, cuz i pon-ed half a year of training with weekiat
i dunno what is it, that got me back in, just a interest that got hooked on to me
or mayb it's just the fact that i loved the tired feeling.
was not a bad choice to join the unit, and i rmb weixiong asking us
"why did you join npcc?"
me and weekiat's reply "we had nothing else to join"
and he said "watch out for these two people"
it ended up that we are both SSGTs now. =D
Sec 1 did nth much, mostly knowing the batch of NCOs that really made history in NPCC,
JianDe's batch and Lychee's batch, both were great i must say
i rmb seeing people smiling when doing pumping, and wondering why
do they enjoy it so much, when it's such a pain.
mayb now i do understand why.

Sec 2:

first speech day i ever marched in. haha
sec2 starting of the year, i pon-ed again.
for a few weeks, or mayb 2months
was already thinking of transferring to basketball, but somehow
weekiat pulled me back i think. HAHA.
sec2 started learning baton and all, kaiwen still came for a few training,
the first training that he came, he held a baton. haha.
after that his traces and footsteps were lost in CTNPCC.
first speech day parade that i marched in and was feeling very good
this year, first time getting to know such a wonderful CI called
BERNARD! a.k.a BIRDIE!
once a good CI, always a good CI. one that could change a cmi squad to some wonder.
wow, i look up to him. haha
and this year got to know a lot a lot of things, like baton drills, and if i'm not wrong
we started our rifle drills at the end of this year.
the whole sec2 squad got a double promotion to CPL, and.. yeap. ^^
our first time trying to shoot with the air gun i think..
and i got all bullets in. but den hor.. nvm lets move on to sec3.

Sec 3:

i was in CONTINGENT 1!! let by Florence Tan Si Ying
i refered to the booklet given out lol, yeap. i enjoyed NPDP training with the free food...
the super long hours of training
the HTA Grand Stand,
the joy of always being the right marker of the contingent due to my height.
the joy of being the first to hentak in the parade.
NPDP will always bring the basics of a cadet to it's maximum.

campcraft competition 08. it wasnt as well as expected,
but me and weekiat really know how to erect a flagstaff within the shortest time.
and of course, we had really tough training.
the blisters formed on my hand still there sia. got one bulging part.
haha thou did not really get 1st, 2nd or 3rd, the participation was a wonder too.
our shelter was really different from the rest. ^^
after campcraft competition and NPDP, there is the Speech Day '08. i marched in both NPDP and speech day. very nice becuz i held the mark4 rifle.
even thou no no.1 U, but it's still cool to march in the GOH, i was the left marker this time round, i dunno why anyway. but it's cool la. =)

after that, the passing out parade for the NCO 0708 batch...
i organised it. and i must say it was the first event organised by me.
i was appointed as the Head NCO for Training.
emman became the Head NCO for Admin.
we went for our NCO CAMP!! with tanglin sec.
it was a success, 2 days 1 night.
in the middle of that 1 night, FIRE DRILL! HAHA
a lot of things learnt there too, a wonderful experience!!
we did quite a lot of stuff at first, finishing up all the basic work that need to be done.
and erm, yea both of us tried our best to make every training a success,
so to the unit: if you all did not enjoy what we organised, please make it better.

i got promoted to SGT. along with weekiat, brenban, yonghien and emman. the rest got promoted later on. i was the sec3s NCO, taking my own squad of usually 3 or 4 people.
very boring but still fun overall. i tried to teach new stuff like slow march and stuff, but it seems that they forever get rejected in the proposals. haha.
hmm sec3, OH YA. we went for our classification shoot.
apparently tall people cannot shoot well. WEEKIAT GOT HIS MARKSMAN CUZ HE SLOUCH.
i dun care T_T
I GOT MARKSMAN BADGE ON MY PENCILBOX. i'm not a marksman on the surface,
but I AM A MARKSMAN IN MY HEART. T_T
we had the UG Skills Day organised by me too. it was... well, standard. LOL.
unit camp 08, taken by CIs. k these events are nt in order, mixed up. haha
yea unit camp, memories a bit blur...haha
during june, i went to china, so all that happened...i dunno. i did not go for my second ATC a.k.a survival camp. i did not go for my PK & HFS course, but went for it later on. in september if i'm not wrong.
so... yea. haha

Sec 4:

first event organised, was the CCA Open House. rushed here and there, planning this and that.
haha in the end, it's still a success!
i was not the OIC, weekiat and brenban i think. haha quite nicely done people!
den there was the muster parade, i got promoted to SSGT together with weekiat, brenban and emman. yonghien wasn't promoted. dun be sad. there is always a heart and passion for npcc.
and in ur heart, ur a ssgt! think of all the SK work la... i really think tt u deserve it, but nvm,
i know u want come back as CI too! =D
after that was the first camp organised by us, CTNPCC UNIT CAMP 09!
we organised it and carried it out. apparently a lot of conflicts here and there,
but during the camp, we glued tgt as one. job well done!!
haha first time in my life that i went crazy singing,.... I GOT PEACE BY THE RIVER.
den we had the... promotion test.
the 5 SSGT including safirah, took the SI promotion test.
brenban had heat stroke and dunno wad he was talking already.
i was drinking water like some crazy idiot like that...haha
den after that, only emman tengyee and me made it. for the nominations.
i was told to conduct the muster parade. BERNARD! XIE XIE NI!
stayed up till 2am, to do preperations, the second day i even pasted things on the ground to lead them into the parade ground.
i was panicking, as it is my first time conducting a muster parade that is PROPER.
so yeap. it went smoothly, jst a bit of cock up. haha.
attained my First Class Drill Badge, did not get to wear it as Speech Day rehearsals.
after the unit camp... started the speech day rehearsals. we drawed our no.1 U for the first time!!! in my life, i know weekiat got SYF be GOH wear before lar... haha

i was appointed as the parade warrant, and it was cool stuff! haha
our mark4 got condemned.. if not it'll look very zai with our no.1 U. first time wearing it.
and probably my last time wearing it in my cadet life. haha
speech day 09 was successful! it fly by really fast... and i know.. haha
after speech day it is already our last training. last parade as a cadet.
very sad.... the story just ends here.
and the official ending is at our passing out parade. where all of us
will be throwing our beret in the air, leaving our footprints in ctnpcc.
i really have achieve quite a lot in ctnpcc. did not expect it so.
SI interview is after my POP i heard. well, let it be even if i dont get it
cuz i'm very happy with what i have now.
and friends made in NPCC will forever be known.

yes, my NPCC cadet life ends, here but it is definitely not over for me.
i'll be back as a Cadet Inspector. for now like birdie told me,
just focus on O levels. I'LL BE BACK.
but not as a Cadet anymore
